on nitro draft
dark brown in color, with thick cream colored head. Nice mild coffee flavor but not overly roasty. Its more in the aroma. Like a schwarzbier with the coffee notes turned up. The nitro serving style works, but mutes the aroma a bit

I done me good picking a sixer when in Nebraska - this one from Oregon is damn good...
The beer says it's a lager, but it looks more like porter with the hazy to opaque coloration and creamy head, the whole thing had a reddish highlight. The smell was coffee-forward, not much in terms of the standard lager smell. Mouthfeel was well carbonated, but it hinted a being creamy, I probably drank half the pint convincing myself of otherwise. The taste was all coffee porter - the strong black kind. Whew! Anyway, this was a good experiment and I would be very inclined to try again.

Luna Jo Cold Brew Coffee Lager pours a translucent brown, with a small, but lacing head. Nice rich coffee aroma, hints of cream. Flavor is a little light and watery, coffee notes, a strange sweetens to end it. Good body and feel. Overall, a coffee forward beer, nice coffee flavors, does taste sweeter then expected, some strange sugary flavors.

Fairly nice European dark lager with some good flavors and balance. 2/6/20 packaged date printed on bottle, and recommended to be consumed within four months so this was a little bit old. Pours a medium rusty amber color with some fluffy white head that settled into small soapy sheets of lingering lacing. Smells of malt, caramel, bread, toffee, vanilla and some lighter nuttiness. Taste follows the nose, good flavor and balance, fairly light matching the lower ABV. Smooth, mild mouthfeel with a little stickiness and decent carbonation. A fine beer.

I got a bottle of this beer off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured dark clear mahogany with very thin head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had noyce coffee notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with coffee grind flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

A: Black with 1" white foamy head and decent lacing but it fades pretty fast.
N: Black coffee, roasted notes, molasses, smoke.
T: Follows the nose, big coffee flavors with a nice char/roasted hit. Minor sweetness and very light bitterness/dry.
M: Light, clean, minor bitterness.
O: A really nice coffee forward lager. This bottle was 4mos old and held up very well. Would love to visit again less than month old.

Bottled 2/18/20
Consumed 6/24/20
So this ain't exactly peak freshness.
Dark brown with a thinnish tan head that almost looks nitro-esque as it never fully dissipates. Nose is all fresh roasted beans even 4+ months later. Also smells as though there may be a lactose addition, but that could just be me. Taste is coffee up front with raisins and toasted bread bringing things home. It's a little too carbonated for me to fully enjoy, but if you're into coffee & dark lagers, this may just be the beer for you.

For a coffee beer, this is one of the most coffee-tasting out there. If you like cold brew, you’ll like it. Has some carbonation that reminds you it’s a beer - but flavor and feel-wise, there’s hardly any beer characteristics. The best thing about this beer is that it’s not to light or heavy and the enjoyable taste lingers.

Not a fan, Deschutes has good offerings but found this one to be a miss on this style for me.

At first glance the look is deep brown with ruby hue when held to light with thick 2 finger beige cream and fine bead with lace that clings in spots with good retention overall
The lager has a smell that is fruity from coffee cherry with roast scent and mild cocoa in aroma with malt sweetness present in the nose
This beer has a feel that is good as it starts with moderate carbonation and balance of malt sweetness with coffee bitterness and light yeast creamy texture with oils of beans and slight hop spice
This tastes lager-like in the yeast meaning no off flavors noted with dry body yet malt has a semi caramel presence with light nutty dry and gently spiced elements of coffee with dry toasted malt in the finish
this is a good choice for both fans of coffee beers and dark lager, it has fresh coffee taste on the dark roasted end of the spectrum and smooth lager yeast with medium body. Just try not to dtink before bed like I did...a good caffeine jolt is apparent.
