A good pilsner is hard to find in the US - in fact, good lagers of any sort are rarely made. But this is a really excellent, rich but not overpowering pilsner, probably the best I've found by a local brewery. It is amber-colored, with a thin head. The taste is strongly reminiscent of a German lager, bready and malty but without the metallic twang a lot of American craft pilsners have. The light flavor means it is extremely drinkable. I'd recommend it to anybody who prefers a light, flavorful beer instead of the festival of extreme manliness a lot of American craft beers have turned into. Unfortunately, it's only available at a Deschutes pub.

A very clear yellow as expected for the style, nose is floral and pine hops (description is German and Czech hops). The initial taste reminds me of Prima Pils with a boquet of hops, a crisp and light body, and a very satisfying bready finish. Very well done for the style, I think they need to bottle it.
