Sampled at the Deschutes brew pub in Portland on 5/27/09, reviewed from notes
More about the beer straight from the Deschutes website: "An easy drinker for the dawning of the summer sun, brewed with all Northern Brewer hops this amber has a mellow finish, with a slight Carmel aroma. Perfect for kicking back and enjoying the summer fun."
A-Golden amber color with golden highlights, 1/4 inch soapy white colored that lasted a few minutes, decent retention, some lacing at the beginning
S-Mild hoppiness, caramel, sweet malts, straw, light citrusy fruits, and a tad of sweetness
T-Flavor starts off with piney hops, some malt in the middle that is mostly caramel, more hops with a little citrus now in the finish, still dry once it warms and malts did not get overpowering, large amount of carbonation takes away from the fullness of the flavor, nice balance but still too light and watery at times
M-Dry, slightly sweet, and crisp mouthfeel, thin bodied, high level of carbonation, taste did not linger, felt far too light
D-Could have drank a few glasses but mainly because it is just light feeling, not filling, no alcohol taste but expected under five percent
Not a bad beer but not great either, especially when you are sitting at a place with fifteen plus Deschutes beers at one time, there is probably a reason this is only a seasonal, would skip next time around, still worth trying
