On-tap at the brewpub. Oh man, this is the closest beer I've had to Franziskaner. The big, herbal orange flavor is so distinct with a little earthy spice and sourdough wheat flavor. Whether they used the same yeast, or followed a similar recipe, I don't know. But this is a kick ass hefe you should try. Miss Spelt was also on tap at my visit, but I prefer this one.

Had on tap at the Portland pub.
Poured up a cloudy golden color with a thick white head which held up well and left some nice lacing behind.
Aroma was heavy on the banana, some bubble gum, ripe fruit, breadiness, and a touch of clove.
Taste was much like the aroma, the banana was probably the most prominent flavor with a bit of bubble gum coming through as well with a slight fruitiness. Bready undertones back things up and a spicy clove finish makes this one quite refreshing.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and crisp, making it quite drinkable and a refreshing thirst quencher.
I was surprised how great this Hefe was. Probably one of the best that I've tasted brewed in the U.S.

On-Tap @ the Portland Brewpub poured into Imperial Pint glass.
Pours a cloudy but glowing marigold with two fingers of fizzy white head that quickly dissolves into a very fine ring around the glass. The aroma is banana, clove and mellow spicy yeast. The flavor has much of the same as the nose but is sweeter, almost bubblegum, with wheat and some hops. Its a light bodied beer with plenty of carbonation. Its very tasty brew and easy to drink and with the alcohol level where it is makes for a great session ale.
