On draught at the PDX pub, the Arctic Blastanator Weizen Bock is a very murky dull bronze with a small, creamy white collar that leaves scattered, creamy lace.
Smell is heavy on the classic Bavarian hefe esters, with lots of clove, and overripe bananas.
Taste is mostly clove, the spiciness accentuates the alcohol, which has a bit of a fusel bite that I don't love. Something about that and the malt seems a little off.
Mouthfeel is very creamy, medium bodied, chewy.
Drinkability is ok, I like the estery nose, but the taste doesn't quite work for me, seems a little dirty.
