Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy (~50% opaque) medium orange color with a moderate white head. SRM of 8-9. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas upfront of lemon, grapefruit citrus, orange and some asian fruit and flower. Herbal, but also lots of citrus. (3.75)
Flavor: Moderate flavors of grapefruit, grape, and pear. Some red grapefruit and berry before a herbal and slightly flowery finish. MInimal bitterness. Flowery, lemony, and citrusy. Alcohol is detectable. (3.75)
Feel: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Mild bitterness with some alcohol astringency on the finish. (3.50)
Compared to Fairstate Big Doinks IPA 12/1/21: Pours a hazier color. More citrus. Less dank weed, herbs, and grass.
Overall: A pretty good fresh-hop IPA here. It has nice flavors of lemon, grapefruit, grape, and pear. Nice grape and flowery notes on the finish. Slightly astringent from the alcohol is the only knock here. Overall, a good IPA. (Final Rating: 3.74)

The name always scared me away; "Chasin' Freshies"? Ok... But this year I bit, and now I'm sold. Fresh hopped beers are my favorite style. This one is tropical (on the Citrus side of things), and that makes it even better in my book. Poured from a 12oz can, this has most of the usual pour character you would expect (head, color, smell, etc). The taste has some nice fruit hints going on it here, and I like it a lot. It is not "Piney" however, and to be honest I am not sure what hops they are using; Could be some Citra. Not likely Simcoe. It is real balanced, flavor wise and does not stick around on the pallet long. It is refreshing. Not heavy in alcohol flavor (it says 6.0 on the side of the can), and I am kind of hoping that it is not seasonal, as I would love to be drinking these in the Summer time when out back BBQ'ing. Winner.

Nice foggy pale orange color, great big soapy head but not much lacing. Snot machine get alot of citrus, orange, grapefruit and melon. Taste has those, but quite subdued. For the most part these Deshutes IPA's have been tasty, this one, not so much. Age?

Poured a hazy orange straw color with a two finger white head that dissipated slowly to a thin film. Heavy lacing was present.
The aroma is slightly citrus and piney.
Tastes of malt, orange and orange pith with a piney bite that lingers on the finish. This bitterness is well balanced with the sweetness.
Moderate-full body with a nice smoothness and moderate-light carbonation.
Overall, this is a very nice drinkable IPA. I was not expecting this to be so well balanced.

Look: Cloudy dull orange with a sudsy off-white head that eventually settles to a film, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Fresh-picked ripe lemons, cut grass, some herbal notes, orange flesh, and wafts of mixed berries, along with a little malt
Taste: Whoa, this one is throwing me off some – tons of orange, lemon, and wet hop notes up front but soon after, a second wave of what to me is pears and peaches hit, which I wasn’t detecting in the nose. Some herbal and berry notes are also present as is malt before grassy, citrusy, and peachy hop notes resurface to close it out
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, and finishes with a slight dryness
Overall: I’m digging it. Though I wish these folks still made Hop Trip, I’ve had this rotating fresh hop iteration every year since they started making it and it’s usually good to great, so I always indulge and can say this year’s is good. Cool to see Bitburger as a collab partner too and my experience with the two hop varietals is limited so am curious how others perceive this. The peach/pear vibe in the taste threw me off after not getting any of it in the nose but the whole package works nicely

Possibly one of the strongest, most dense, longest lasting heads i have witnessed. Great beer - I'll put this in my top 10.

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.
Pours a lightly hazy pale gold with a good head of foam and retention.
Smells hoppy but also bitter. Citrus, pine, hints of tropical fruitiness.
The taste is pine and citrus hops, tropical fruitiness, cracker malt, with a long lasting bitterness in the aftertaste.
Good mouthfeel, good beer.

From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Hazy yellow-gold, good head.
Smell: Citrus, orange rind.
Taste: Mild sweetness, then oranges-citrus-orange juice. Not too acidic, balanced right on the edge of sweetness and acidity.
Overall: Pretty solid IPA, close to the NEIPA line. Very orangey, not as acidic as some NEIPA's which is a plus. Pretty good bitterness which I enjoy in my IPAs.

Canned 09/21/21
Appearance - Pours hazy and golden in color with a white, near finger width head that displays good retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Solid lacing, with
Smell - Citrusy aroma with a bit of spice and melon. Hint of bready malt sweetness.
Taste - Follows the nose. Orange hits first, then a mellower undertone of melon. Hints of spice and grass. Clean, bready malt body. Aftertaste definitely hangs with the orange and melon lingering nicely.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Silky smooth texture makes this a stupid easy, refreshing drinker.
Overall - Really solid edition of the Chasin' Freshies. Much enjoyed.

Relatively clear golden with an orange hue to it. Some really nice lacing, head remains in the form of thin opaque layer of white.
Lots of pleasant smells come off of this beer: orange, melon, earthy, and pineapple.
Taste follows the nose but there is a nice malt backbone to support all the flavors. The earthy notes are more noticeable as well.
Mouthfeel is medium, nice dry finishing beer with moderate bitterness.
I really enjoyed this one this year.
