On tap. White hard. Lace.

Biscuit, honey crackers, bready. Grassy, zesty hops. Smooth and malty. Easy drinking and fun to try. Light but a nice amount of flavor.

dumb name, even with the king crispy play, feels cheap for a brewery i never think of as cheap, but the beer is solid, light as can be, maybe the lightest ive had of these, which some might call being a bit light on flavor overall or bland, but i didnt think so, just less of the richer grains and european character from malt and yeast than most of these have, even in the festbier space, which is like the hottest new thing the last couple of years in the fall, still lean towards marzen personally i think, but these are good and this is an all night long take on it. light copper color with new penny shine and an average white head from the tap, tons of bubbles. the nose is minimal when its cold but opens as it sits a little, nutty malt on the dry side with a pils element to it still, lightly bready and with some minerality evident, not as rich as a lot of them, less of the munich malt personality too, some mellow doughy yeast in the mix, noble hops way way back, and the flavor is similar, with great proportions and drinkability, and cool food diversity because of its lightness, this was a sushi beer for me, not where i usually think to go with the style, but it worked quite well actually with salt and umami and freshness, palate cleansing on every sip. notes of toffee and bread crusts, but it drinks lighter than i am making it sound and way lighter than it looks, and it is in fact crispy, drying at the end, the german roots coming out a bit more later on. i think i have to balance the want for richer and more robust beers in this style space this time of year with how high the overall quality actually is with this, like its excellent beer, professional and lively and tasty, but not quite as autumnal as it could and maybe should be. still, neat to see everyone jumping on this festbier train, the more the merrier when it comes to fall seasonals!

Draft at brewery taproom. Golden, amber pour, small foamy head. Light malty aroma, toasty. Taste brings some hoppiness, too much for the style, kind of ruining it for me. I know what they were going for, but it didn't click for me.
