Tried this bottle in March, 2024.
Super dark black color with a thick tan head. Head was incredibly thick!. Lacing streaks the glass! Nose is soft cocoa, assume from the aging. Not much char on the nose or taste, which makes me think the aging softened the beer. Smooth chocolate and coffee flavors. Very good aged beer.

Deschutes The Abyss 2017 Reserve BBA Imperial Stout, 11.4% ABV. Pours thick and black with a real nice three-finger medium-brown head that was sturdy, ultimately leaving lots of foamy lacing. Nose is bourbon, licorice, oak, and moleasses. Taste follows, faintly sweet, slightly bitter, slight bourbon burn. Excellent mouthfeel, overall Excellent, and improving as it warms. Nicely complex.
