new, light, tasty, good, but not radical, not as great as these guys can be, but drinkable for its strength, minimal on the malt side, with a little residual sugar through it that i think helps these hops pop, nice for summer in the northwest and a cool addition to this variety box. not quite clear but pale and bright in the glass still, honey colored under an inch of puffy white head, good bubbles to this, maybe just a tad unrefined for deschutes, but looks pretty good overall. aroma smells just a little yeasty oddly enough, but the hops push right through, chamomile herbal vibes, papaya and mango tropical notes as the name suggests, but its also somewhat nondescript, like nothing really stands out, and the whole thing isnt unique, its appealing but also kind of muted, and a bit of this transders to the flavor, where its kind of understated, like almost in the pale ale range, could maybe be more in thr 5% abv range to fit the flavor profile, seems strong to be so moderate, if that makes sense. medium body, great bubbles, no real linger, although its not fast finishing either. this sort of fits in the space of like, i enjoy hoppy beer but dont know or love a varietal or a profile or any specifics of the style, just give me a cold wet one with some flavor. deschutes usually means a little more than that in most of their beers, but it seems good enough for this one...

Sweet but not too sweet; strong pineapple notes; not too hoppy; very smooth drinking. Another quality Deschutes brew.

Part of a summer sampler 12 pack. Pours a pale gold color, slight chill haze, with a creamy white head. Smells of sweet citrus fruit. Taste is also fruity with citrus bitterness. Crisp clean finish.

Pours an effervescent gold/homey color with one finger of beige head. Good head retention & lacing

S: Guava, tangerine, green melon

T: Follows the nose, also leafy hops & a little grapefruit, plus dryness up front. Dryness, pears, a little pomelo as this warms; some grassyness. Finishes dry, grassy with a little lime & leafy hop

MF: Light/medium body, fairly firm carbonation, good balance

This is only a month away from BBD, so I wonder I what I am missing? Be nice if Deschutes would actually get it to market sooner around here. Okay, but not one I'd buy again unless on draft

Bottled 03/31/22

Appearance - Pours with a slight haze and golden orange in color with a finger's width, off-white head. Fair retention before giving way to a Thin, consistent film of suds over the surface, thickening into a ring around the edge of the glass. Fair lacing, with webbing, broken lines and small spotting.

Smell - Tropical is indeed the aroma here. Pineapple, mango, lychee and tangerine with a hint of peach.

Taste - Clean, crisp notes of pineapple, orange, tangerine, hints of peach and mango and a touch of lychee. Bready malt undertone. Finish lingers with zing and a bit of citrus pith bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Smooth ,easy drinker with a crisp, slightly dry finish.

Overall - Good, solid tropical IPA. Smooth and easy drinker. I wouldn't have any qualms about drinking this again.
