On tap at Deschutes Public House, $3 for 12 oz. 'shortie', consumed 7.14.2010, 5.6 ABV 76 (!) IBU.
1/2 finger off white head, a bit uneven, quick dissipation with minimal lacing. Clear orange amber body, minimal carbonation visible. The nose is a bit sweet upfront with noticeable hop presence, resiny. Taste starts with a bit of sweetness, followed by massive hop attack, a bit grassy then sweet tropical fruit, leading to a lingering noble pine resiny finish. Mouthfeel is medium light and quite sticky, decent effervescence. Drinkability is good, a nice interpretation of Red Chair, ABV well hidden but far more hoppy than it's erstwhile 'cousin'. Seven hop varieties and six malts provide 'balance' to this nice one-off. Worth a try.
