I really enjoy the original, especially with some years of aging, so I was excited to try the raspberry addition variant. Honestly and thankfully it is much the same with big lacto, vinegar, mild barrel funk, oak and now of course raspberry, lending a slightly more acidic feel that is also a tick thinner. Not as vinous as the original, more oaky in taste especially. Prefer the original but this is very good as well. Both great American takes on the style

I’ve wanted to try OG Dissident for quite some time, so when I saw this raspberry variant on Tavour I figured it was a no brainer to get. I’ve had a few Oud Bruins with adjuncts, but I believe this is my first with raspberry. It seems like a logical fruit for the style though. Let’s get into it

Pours a cloudy brownish purple with 2 fingers of pinkish brown head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing

This is all raspberry in the nose, with nice underlying funky notes. I’m picking up on aromas of jammy raspberry, brown bread, sharp oak, molasses, black cherry, light red wine vinegar, and walnut

Both the funk and tartness get turned up in taste, which I really appreciate. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting tart cherry, dark bread, red wine vinegar, jammy raspberry, lemon juice, wet hay, sharp oak, and light leather. The swallow brings notes of jammy raspberry, black cherry, red wine vinegar, crabapple, toasted oak, dark bread, wet hay, and light leather

A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky but the tartness dries it out over time into something rather refreshing

This one is cool. The raspberry is much stronger in the nose than the taste, but it adds a nice subtlety to it
