Sub-par attempt at a German dunkel, brown but not quite roasty and/or nutty enough. A good intro to the style, but pales in comparison to the German original.

On tap at the Portland brewpub.
A: A clear light brown with half finger off-white head that diminished quickly.
S: Dark chocolate, chocolate malts, caramel. Some graininess.
T: Follows nose with a muted sense of what should've been more robust. Lighter than I expected.
M: Low to medium with low to medium, almost watery carbonation.
O: This one didn't really work for me. Too watery, not robust enough. Just kinda sat there. Makes me want to slug down another Blind Side Porter.
