on tap at monks

Pours a hazy golden color with a crisp, frothy white head resting on top. Retains nicely, leaving patchy lacing on the glass with some clouded film resting on top.

Citrusy and hoppy in the nose with a pleasant dash of orange and grapefruit. Biscuity malts with some grainy hints. Nice bitterness and barely any alcohol.

Bitter up front with a nice burst of orange peel. Hints of lemon and grapefruit and a dash of light, tempered sweetness. The backbone is fairly mild with biscuit and grain textures. Finishes hoppy and dry, lingering on the tongue for a bit.

Medium body, decent carbonation, slightly creamy and slick on the tongue. This is a really nice IPA - too bad it's only available at the brewpub across the country.

On Tap at Monk's Cafe for their 'Deschutes Is Da Shit' event for Philly Beer Week, served in a Deschutes glass.

Bright gold with minimal new copper making it's way into the mix. A nicely formed cap blossoms, eventually forming a nicely figured one inch off white creamy head, it sticks around though, only to a small cap that leaves slightly window covering lace. Beautiful beer here.

For a IPA, this beer has a nice juicy citrus bursting scent that is grapefruit up front. It's hard to get around the floral scents, it's right there the whole time. A big pine scent comes up as well. No pale malts, but some biscuits come up. The hops and floral notes dance around wonderfully

I get a big floral taste from the hops/yeast mix a bit grapefruit citrus forward. Along with the grapefruit blast just enough malt balances this out making this well rounded. Some small mango with papaya and some bread towards the end. Very well rounded, fresh off the tap

This just feels right. I don't have a bad thing to say about the feel. Medium bodied with a sharp but short bite of carb that comes and goes in between the citrus. This is a souped up ale and im in for the ride. A great floral aftertaste.

I could and would drink a four pack of this a day if available,, one of the best IPA' I've had recently, all the way from the west coast but that's just nitpicking, Angler IPA is Damn good beer, go get some at the pub, as this is an exclusive from what I hear.

Hops aren’t the only fun ingredient to play with in an IPA. In this take on a northwest staple style, we pulled all the caramel and pale malt out. Pilsner and flaked oats provide the base for the citrus and pine aroma of simcoe and experimental hop #369. Enjoy you hop lovers! IBUs 75 | Alcohol by Vol. 7%
On tap at the Portland pub.
A - Served a cloudy medium to light orange with a small tan head.

S - Citrus orange and sweet. Some alcohol heat as well.

T - Very fruity, citrusy and sweet. A tiny bit of alcohol burn.
