on tap in PDX pub.

Much darker than anticipated - copper with etched surface foam and the beer is quite diaphanous. The nose is weak, some lemon faintly behind the wheat character. The flavor is really not impressive to me - wheat, sharp - this is the approach to tartness, but I found it less refreshing and more astringent in this setting. The wheat was still too sweet and there were some yeasty flavors like coriander. Medium carb on full body with a slick finish. I did not care for this one.

from notes.

Wasn't sure what style to put this under.
Description from Deschutes:
"Miss Spelt that was allowed to sit in our kettle with a sour wort culture for 24 hours. The result is a beer with nice fruit qualities and a refreshingly light but tart finish."

Arrives darker than expected, but still an attractive amber brown with a foamy white head.

Lightly fruity, floral notes with definite tartness in the middle-finish. Light wheat malt background holds it all together.

Medium, smooth body from the wheat base, but also a fairly crisp, light finish.

I really liked this one, reminded me a bit of a Berliner Weissbier with the refreshing tartness.
