Here’s a twist on a wheat ale. How about a bunch of caramel malts and some cascade hops? We thought it sounded good too. We used our house ale yeast at a low fermentation temperature to keep the ester production low, unlike a traditional hef. A light touch of cascade aroma finishes this session-able wheat ale real nicely. Tip one back!
IBUs 30 | Alcohol by Vol. 4.8%
A - Served a very dark orange to almost brown with a one inch light tan head that fades to a thin film. Lots of lacing.
S - The same Deschutes orange hop scent a most of their hoppy stuff. A bit of wheat does try to come through.
T - Hops, oranges, kettle corn, carmel.
D - Good carbonation. Medium body. Hoppy citrus finish.
O - Hops over ride anything else her. Not like that's a bad thing.
