this is exceptional, i might eve go so far as to say world class, really sensational example of the style, crazy drinkable but with awesome depth too, my favorite of the beers we had in here and an absolute winner. deep dark brown in color, dark chocolate toned, with an average tan head on it, looks robust and clean at the same time. the nose is chocolate forward but the english yeast adds a lot here, its bready and earthy and maybe just a little bit sweet, but not full of long boiled grain sugars or caramel character or anything. the flavor is direct but also nuanced, dark baking chocolate, raisin, a hint of smoke, sweet figs, cola, and a pleasant bitterness from the roast that most of these lack, this reaches a little deeper. im a big fan of the creamy mouthfeel too, not sure if they have some oats in here or how they make it so silky, but it glides right down, medium body, fast finish for being so grain driven, great fermentation profile that first ideally, and overall exactly what i want in the style and super drinkable. the best brown ale ive had in a long time...
