I really recommend StoneTrippin's Place review. Thorough, his usual quality script and insight. Besides he spent a pleasant afternoon there and I was there only 30 minutes.
Off-the-charts (almost) Vibe for me. Hackney Central is the centre of a run-down neighbourhood that is coming back fast. Like many London neighbourhoods that show how good government can make things better, Hackney Central is a transport hub that didn't exist before London's Overground was stitched together in this century from abandoned/derelict railroads that carried mostly freight and now carries people; making London such a thriving place. Hackney Church is one of probably 100 micros (I'm guessing) that have set themselves up under the barrel vaults of railroad tracks. It is a formula that works well in London; but also Tokyo, another great city (albeit the speciality there is noddle shops.)
Quality of HCBC brews are hard to judge as I had only a hazy pale called Blast Off. But almost half of the taps were from fellow micro- brewers and that shows HCBC is confident enough to compete. Service also was good as they were tolerating an old man (me) who took a long time to make up his mind. Selection could be improved with a bottle shop refrigerator, as many young taprooms also offer that. Food I did not have, but I read the menu and was very impressed by its thoughtfulness and creativity. While only 3 Sunday entrees and a handful of sides, it all sounded good.
I hope to return when the weather turns good.

absolutely wonderful brewery here, highly recommended, one of my favorite stops on our whole trip. its a little off the beaten path down a sort of alley, another archway spot, but it feels enormous inside, old london vibes for sure but kind of a mellow industrial chic vibe too, feels old but nicely repurposed. they have some outside space in front, an expansive beer hall space inside with the bar in the middle, an impressive indian kitchen behind it, and then a back patio thats shaded and funky, they have a little garden growing hops and stuff back there, even a worm farm! some definite ecology and sustainability stuff happening here. pretty cool beer list although they were out of some when we were in, i loved the brown ale, was pleased with the lager, and had fun with a couple of big stouts. we sat out back and it was awesome. service was fine, the restaurant part was awesome, cool vegetarian options. i had a mushroom tikka masala and some black garlic naan, both absurdly good, super elevated for brewery food. more than anything i like the vibes here, the aesthetic of the place, the attention to detail right down the the unique glassware they use, definitely a fun afternoon passing time and drinking beers with the boys! not to be missed if you are in this part of the city! not much hype around them but there should be!
