Amber Ale made from fresh local ingredients: Newport and Mackinac hops from Alexander Farms 2021 crop just outside of Alpena. Fresh syrup from maple trees tapped this spring in Maple Ridge township. Grain sourced from Great Lakes Malting Company out of Traverse City that malts only grain grown in Michigan. These ingredients all come together to create a full bodied beer with caramel and toffee notes that blend well with the additional sweetness that the maple syrup provides. Pours a medium brown color with a foamy head that lasts quite a while. Taste is slightly sweet and smooth and creamy. Enjoyed this one a lot.
