473 mL can from the LCBO; "PKG D2022" so I'm gonna guess Apr 20 2022. Served slightly chilled.
Pours a turbid pale yellow colour, capped with two glorious fingers of puffy, soapy, foamy white head that recedes gradually over the next six or seven minutes. The messy coat of lace it leaves behind is equally beautiful, with a lumpy, quarter-inch cap remaining indefinitely - it's a visually enticing glass of beer, that's for sure. Lemon and grapefruit on the nose, with suggestions of melon, berries and wheaty, bready malts.
It's a solid IPA - citrus-forward for the most part, with white grapefruit, lemon pith and tangerine coming to mind, overshadowing a backdrop of wheaty bread and oatmeal sweetness. Lightly floral on the back end, with pithy bitterness, strawberry and orange peel dissipating into a fruity, mildly acidic aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with moderately low carbonation that gently agitates the surface of the tongue, lending a little bit of a bite to this brew's silky-smooth, fulfilling mouthfeel.
Final Grade: 3.95, a B+. I enjoyed my can of Dazed in a Haze, and would encourage fans of hazy, citrusy IPAs to seek this out and give it a shot. Haven't heard a whole lot about this upstart (contract?) brewery thus far, but if they can continue to produce beers of this calibre, they may just manage to make a wave or two in this province. Each label includes a QR code/link to a song by a (presumably) indie music artist, which is pretty neat.
