9/22/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Obtained via a 7/19/24 trade with David, @doctorzombies on Beer Advocate. Refrigerated since trade completion. 16 oz packaged 6/30/24. 4.7% ABV All American Ale. Light. Crisp. Effervescent. A Carolina Classic! it's "so" good. Can art by Ernest Lee. Brewed and canned by Savage Craft Ale Works, 430 Center Street, West Columbia, South Carolina.
Appearance: About 2/3 of the can poured into a shaker pint yields a crystal clear yellow straw base, and slow sustained carbonation yielding a bright white generous bubble creamy head that settles after a few minutes into a creamy fine bubble cover over the base without lacing. 4.0
Aroma: Corn and ethanol and rubbing alcohol, like a cheap AAL and offensive . I'm a bit afraid of the first sip. 2.0
Taste: Unlike the aroma, the taste is not offensive. Light corn, faint cracker, a bit of salt. Faint to light in strength. 2.75
Mouthfeel: Faint carbonation, light and easy drinking, lighter than the ABV. Neutral in terms of dry or bitterness / sweetness. Light watery body. Corn finish. 2.5
Overall: This seems to be a craft attempt at the macro audience. Really light drinking beer guess brewed to drink copious amounts while watching Gamecocks football. OK to try, but a one and done on my end. 2.5
