Simcoe, Chinook, and Tangier hops are delicately layered over a blend of 2-row and pilsner malts in Marley, our newest American IPA. Big notes of honeydew and grapefruit up front with pineapple and tangerine rinds and pink starburst in the finish

Undated, added to the BA database on April 5th, so fresh. Presented as just an IPA, which is nice. Nose is light, just a whiff of fruit and pine. Clear with light head which fades away. Feel is pleasant and smooth, lightly carbonated and the right level of dryness. Hops are well-known: Simcoe, Chinook and Tangier. Taken to the max, you would have a fruit bomb, yet they have moderated the flavors in favor of drinkability. A good choice for having with light foods without having the beer's flavors dominate. Smooth finish. Just 6.8% ABV,

16-ounce can purchased at Noble Hop Bierhaus in Hillsboro, OR. No date stamp. Enjoyed in a small Becher glass.

The body is a pale and slightly hazy yellow-gold. The head is bright white and looks thick but doesn't last very long and doesn't generate much lacing. The nose is vivid with tangerines, and also offers some nice pine and woody notes. The flavor, like the nose, has some big sweet tangerine notes. There's plenty of pink grapefruit too, with a low but insistent bitterness. The middle offers pineapple, pine, lime zest, Honeycomb cereal and a mild creamy character I'm not a fan of. Finishes with melon, grapefruit pith, and respectable bitterness. The body is light, the carbonation soft. A pleasant if rather unremarkable IPA. I wish it had more of the bite and ferocity suggested by the snarling black cat on the label.
