Poured from 330mL can into a tall kitchen glass. Best by 10/9/23.
Appearance: dark pink hue with a moderate-to-heavy haze and a finger of pink foam atop, that didn't stick around too long.
Smell: lots of cherry, plus a fair amount of sweetness and a bit of earthy character. According to the ingredient list, this is back-sweetened, so that explains some of it. Not bad, but I'd prefer either a deeper, less sweet cherry flavor, or something a lot more sweet and tart.
Taste: sweet, like the aroma, with a decent cherry flavor and just a tiny element of tartness. It's not quite the candy cherry bomb that I tend to like, but the flavor is well-rounded for a sweetened cherry beer and I'm digging it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess for the style.
Overall: I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor; the aroma is decent but didn't quite foreshadow the relative tastiness of this beer. Of course, I'm predisposed to like cherry beers, so your own mileage may vary.
