Poured at fridge temp. Pours a thick and viscous black with quickly-dissipating brown head. The nose is quite amazing. Marshmallow, vanilla, lactose, chocolate ganache, light bourbon, and salted caramel.
The taste is really interesting and well integrated. Definitely different (in some ways) than the nose. More of a roasted malts note comes through first. Sweet vanilla, chocolate, hazelnuts, salted caramel, mild bitter coffee, fairly strong bourbon presence, and some oak. Quite a lot going on here. It improves a bit as it warms. I'm really enjoying it. It's nice, given the ingredients, that it isn't a cloying beer. On the contrary. After a while I start picking up more dark fruit notes, including blackberries and raisins.
The mouthfeel is insanely thick. Almost on par with Weldwerks. The aftertaste is bourbon and sweet chocolate.
