As Silverboy had gone gave me a few cans of the not suck a few weeks ago in Brooklyn, I had totally planned to drop in here when I’m next out west, which I now am. Beer & baseball pregaming as we do. Up north for 2 days before heading back down to San Diego to meet up with the talls the day after themorrow, and bonus, it’s supposedly on the way over to D & E’s place in Long Beach, convenient and all that that brings. Found it, and wow, that’s one large goddamn facility. Enter through the outdoor seating pen and in…
We set up at the bar; ‘L’ shaped, plank wood dark varnished topped, multi-hued block tile base, and seating for just 6 on greenish plastic scoop chairs. 3 vertically tiled inlays on the barback wall. Merch in the one on the left, a row of 2 dozen non-descript handles over stainless on center with a crowl crimper aside, and a can cooler to the right. Glassware & crowls shelved below, and a triple wide vertical tap list above broken out by categories lightish beer & hoppy beer (beer, style, ABV, descriptors – hops & otherwise) + coffee & seltzies.
Concrete floors, and fabric over big beam ceiling with spinny action, some track spots, & gumball drop lamps tracing the bar. White walls with Mikkelleresque mural play, and window views to the brewery to the rear (boom!). Mounted martini glass lamps between the windows, with potted plants on the sills and elsewhere about the room. Triple wide beer to-go cooler across the way for, you know, the procurement of cans for you to go elsewhere with. And a few foeders in the rear corner all smiley.
A single hightop shared off the bar, and then 3 booths along the brewery windows, 3 shorty rounds adjacent from them, a few table tops on a bar counter ledge past there, and 2 more shorty rounds and a shared rectable to the rear. The aforementioned outside seating pen holds 9 picnics & rounds, and bar counter ledge action. A few food pop ups out front, too. You know, I could a something ‘cause all I’ve had all day were those fucking biscotti cinnamon things they fed me on the flights.
10 beers up (Deep Breath, Czech Pale Lager, 4.6%; Endless Fields, Modern Wheat, 5.7%; Branching Out, Modern Pilsner, 5.6%; Egg Select, WC IPA, 6.6%; Clarity, WC IPA, 6.6%; Vanishing Points, DDH WC IPA, 6.4%; Joyful Intuition, Hazy IPA, 6.5%; Take it All, Hazy IPA, 7%; Eyes Wide Closed, Hazy DIPA, 8.3%; Timelessness, DDH WC DIPA, 8.5%), + 4 seltzers & a cold brewed coffee.
We sampled 6 of the 10 beers up. Really, anything that didn’t have the word ‘hazy’ or ‘double’ in its name (as I am the driver in a strange coastland). Endless Fields, Modern Wheat, dank, pine, excellent; Branching Out, Modern Pilsner, clean, bitter, hop hop hop, really effin nice; Egg Select, WC IPA, Nelson, citrus, piney, beautifully bitter; Clarity, WC IPA, dank, piney, tangerine, maybe, solid. The beers here were all magnificent. She dealt us a pinch of the Rhythm Seekers, a Munich Dunkel collab with Schilling. Jeeeeesus! That did not suck.
Sat talking with head brewer Stefan at length (the guy can brew, true). We bought a 4 pack of Egg Select for the talls to never see (we are bad friends) and got rolling for Long Beach. Cool, comfortable space. Excellent beer. It’s been a good day.

I am a member of Everywhere's beer club. They are pricy but their BA stouts are definitely worth the coin. Adjuncts used are high quality and they use interesting takes like adding flambeed bananas or toasted marshmallows at some point in the brewing process. They also do an excellent job with their lighter beers - am a fan of their Kolschs - and the IPAs always have a nice, smooth hoppy finish. The tasting room is a decent place to hang. with a variety of seating such as tables, booths, etc.

A steady flow of take away customers late aft but earlier I had to wait to be spotted to be served as the 3rd in the house.good to take samples in proper glassware. Good west coast and the helles were highlights. Worth a stop.

Cool vibe and quite busy. Really nice tap list, with a couple of special stouts pouring. Prices are probably a bit higher than normal, but the quality is definitely high. The staff were very nice and helpful. Will definitely visit again.
