Poured into a taster glass from bottle. Over-looking the canyons of Fallbrook, CA. Smell is sweetness and a touch of banana. Taste is a slight sting from the maple, then well-balanced banana. Not a big banana beer fan, but this is glorious. Medium-bodied. Stellar.

 

Poured at fridge temp. Pours super thick and black as night. Minimal head.

The nose is awesome. Definitely picking up banana, but not a ton of rye. Some toffee and chocolate, and lemon meringue pie.

The taste is awesome. Sweet banana cream pie, vanilla, chocolate chip pancakes, maple, slight barrel, and some toffee. Some dark fruit emerges as it warms. Some brown sugar comes through as well. Really awesome taste.

Mouthfeel is thick and creamy.

Sweet chocolate covered banana, a hint of maple syrup, a hint of rye spice, and a vanilla-bourbon and rum barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with a slightly thin, candied banana, banana pancakes with maple syrup, and a subtle rum barrel finish. The description for this says rye bourbon barrels, but my taste buds are saying there is some rum barrels involved somewhere here! Ha! This is yummy and so well done! The only thing missing IMO is a little more barrel on the backend and a touch more viscosity on the palate to compliment the creamy banana notes. Fantastic!
