No bottling date (released on 7/24/2022); consumed on 11/14/2022
Pours a jet-brown body capped with a finger and a half of creamy, khaki-hued foam; good head retention leaves a near-blank cap accompanied by a moderate, frothy collar and a steady display of webby lacing spread around the walls of the glass.
Aromas of hazelnut fudge meld with a rich, milky chocolate backbone; edges of peanut butter cookie dough accent over time as vanilla pronounces via wispy strains of charry oak and lighter whiskey influence.
Taste brings cocoa alongside charry oak upfront into toasted hazelnut and shades of peanut creme for a nuttier mid-palate; richer milk chocolate levies elements of sweetness against slight whiskey and barrel toast undertones on the finish.
Mouthfeel shows a medium-light body sporting a moderate fluff of almost spritzy carbonation leaning into a subtle creaminess and distantly bittering char as it disperses over the mid-palate; consistently drying into the back end, a largely clean finish is accented with softer elements of roast and a mild warmth.
Vivid bakery aromatics fade to a more tempered display of nutty roast and passive barrel; an easygoing presentation short of capitalizing on initial richness, instead opting for a modest, if still satisfying, approach.
