750 ml bottle into flute glass.
Looks: Pours a just-slightly-hazy straw yellow. Massive 3.5 finger head that dissipates somewhat quickly, leaving a thin ring and faint fingers.
Nose: Very bright nose. Lots of funk, almost cheesy, but accompanied with (and sweetened by) a robust fruity character. I get loads of apricot, Greengage and Mirabelle plums, a bit of lemon and orange zest, and a faint hint of elderflower. Brilliant.
Taste: Follows the nose pretty much, with the addition of a decent amount of oak character. Somewhat dry, not as sweet as I was expecting. For big fans of semi-dry white wine, this would be a transformative beer experience (though it's not nearly as dry as a truly dry white). For me... I wish it was a little sweeter, but I still greatly enjoyed it. If it wasn't so expensive I'd drink it all the time.
Feel: Very pleasant medium-light level of natural carbonation, it tickles the palette slightly but isn't overpowering or bubbly enough to distract from the flavour profile.
Overall: It is delicious saison. You must drink it. For fans of the style, definitely check this out at least once.
