Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Initially clear pour... hazed with a bit of sediment at the finish. Light golden color. Fizzy white head with no significant lacing.
S: White wine, oak, crackery grains, and fruit.
T.F: Semi-sweet up front. Grains and biscuit... fruity. Grape, pear, and apple-peel. White wine character present.. nice oak. A bit of spice. Assertive carbonation and light bodied. Dry finish... chardonnay and fruit.
O: An outstanding white-wine barrel Saison. Picks up the chardonnay nicely... light and fruity. Really enjoyable.

L- The beer pours a hazy gold with a 1 1/2 finger fizzy white head. The head recedes as fast as it forms virtually disappearing before I can snap a picture. No lacing is present.
S- Upon first popping the cap I get a strong tartness followed by the Brett funk. The tartness eventually overwhelms the funk on the finish.
T- What I get here is kind of the reverse of the nose. Funky up front followed up with light tartness in the middle. In the end I get a nice melding of the two.
F- Despite the fizzy carbonation on the pour, the carb is fairly light overall and the mouthfeel is light.
O- This is a fantastic example of an American made saison. It's easy to see why it won a GABF gold medal. It's chardonnay barrel aged, but as a non wine drinker I'm not qualified to judge that aspect. I would highly recommend this beer to saison fans for its near perfect balance between tartness and funk. Its flavorful and easy to drink.

First had 1/14/17 at Adam's house. A GABF gold medal winner. It starts with tingly chardonnay, nice funk, and then has a slightly sour, salty Brett finish. Almost a mixture of saison and gose styles.

DATE: November 8, 2016... OCCASION: Election night--something is going to change, might as well drink something quality... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... light, pulpy densely opaque body that suggests golden hay... the head is a two-thirds finger of white that is thick but flexible... tart sharpness with the funk of bretts empowering ginger, vanilla, and floral Hallertau hops... champagne is evoked, as is the dryness of unoaked chardonnay.... speaking of wine, quite bubbly and lively, with some teeth suggesting hops... at 6%, smooth and satisfying... apple, banana, pear, vanilla, ginger, lemon, tart fruits, and some glorious lemon zest that all adds up to potpourri of flavors... a medal winner for sure, and one that is worthy of bolstering an election experience....

saison ale aged in chardonnay barrels refermented in bottle.farmhouse ale brewed with european malted barley and wheat and czech saaz and german hallertau hops. lightly acidified and fermented from belgian yeast. then aged in freshly dumped chardonnay barrels with multiple strains of brettanomyces, unfiltered and naturally conditioned.
i bought it at the brewery 28 ounce bottle. This is the only beer they had in bottles.
Looked great in the bottle but nothing special about it when poured in glass, about twice as good as budweiser overall.
