Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It is an attractive, crystal clear golden color with a thin, ecru ring and foam floating on top. The smell offers grainy malt with lite citrus and a whiff of spice. It has a classic Italian Pilsner taste: dry, toasted bread/cracker, herbal/spicy, with a hint of lemon peel. It is quite flavorful. The mouth feel is lite, crisp, and effervescent and it is very quaffable at 5.5% ABV. Overall, The Boot is a very good local Italian Pilsner. And style points for it being named for a local legend: Newark mobster Ruggiero "Richie the Boot" Boiardo.
