A complex malty & warming dark ale combined with the charred oak and honey from Tom Cat Gin barrels. Then finished with cherries.

On draught at the brewery. It pours a very dark ruby with virtually no head or lacing. The smell offers big cherry and honey. I let it warm in the glass and was rewarded. The taste is primarily oaky, slightly smoky, black cherry. The gin barrel notes are evident as it warms and give it an interesting depth of flavor. It's quite boozy. The mouth feel is thick, slightly oily, with lite carbonation, and the 12.7% ABV is both noticeable and warming. Overall, this is an interesting take on the Quad style. I don't think it's for everyday drinking but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
