a somewhat hoppy but very low bitterness lager here, crisp and summery and crushable, thanks to my parents for picking this up for me on their florida trip, really good stuff, version 2.0, but it seems like there have been many versions of this with different hops, my can says dry hopped with citra cryo, and its very bright and refreshing, well made lager, peppy hops add a lot, all very fresh. sunny blonde beer thats close enough to clear and sporting a short white head with some loose ring lace as it drinks. the nose here is balanced with some fresh and lightly earthy but very clean pils type malt that sets up the punchy citra really well, this is a lovely use of cryo, lighter dosed than in the big ipa types obviously, and i think as a solo varietal it works well in this softer voice, and there is a purity with the cryo format that gets it sort of integrated into the aroma right away, lemongrass and light herbal character with it, very pleasant aroma wafting overall here, close to neutral lager yeast, tidy stuff that fits the warm weather we are having very well. the flavor is just like the nose, massively fresh and easygoing beer, citra is super obvious, best form here, all through this without taking over, cool deployment of the cryo, surprised we havent seen it used like this more! snappy lager with just a little bit of body and grain flavor, soft citrus all through it from the hops, but this would appeal to most lager drinkers even those preferring the beer flavored beer types, its not into that west coast pils range or india pale lager or anything, its mild just distinctive. nice carbonation, dry and quick finish even without hop bitterness, and a nice liveliness overall, really smart recipe, professional execution, and a base beer that i think could support a bunch of different hop profiles at this clarity and dosage, which might be where this project is headed anyway, but it seems built for citra too, and i was stoked on this completely.
