This was a miss for me.Very little flavor. I got no chocolate or coffee, only a little bitterness and roast. IMO there are many better stouts for a better price.

Dorcha Extra Stout from Pariah Brewing. Received on 21/2/21, cost $ 9.17 (Including shipping) for a 16 oz can ($ 0.573/oz) from Craftshack, San Diego, CA. Stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 8/3/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “12/16/20” On the back label “Drink within 180 days of date code”. Served at 50.1 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 55.2 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Brown (SRM 20), clear.
Body – Deep Brown (SRM 30), opaque. When rear-lite, some penetration occurs at the edge, revealing the brown.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.5 cm, aggressive center pour), fawn, high density with a rocky top, average retention, leaving a five to ten mm undulating crown, and a thin complete cap with a few rocks. Second pour produces a 1.4 cm head.
Lacing – Good. Wide band of near-microscopic to tiny bubbles with a few windows.
Aroma – 3.5 – Begins with weak cocoa, no hops, no yeast. Becomes weaker with time.
Flavor – 3.5 – Begins moderately bitter with distinct cocoa. No hops, no yeast. No alcohol (7.2% ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends moderately bitter with light cocoa.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, watery, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Weak cocoa in aroma and flavor; no hint of the advertised coffee. Not bad, just too weak all the way around to justify the price point.

Snuck over to Pariah for some reviews. Love their place and pretty much everything they make, so was excited to finally review some more stuff. Would be my second time having this one after reviewing Mamba Mode (3.86), Refill Material (3.85) and Breakfast Can Wait (4.03) right before. Gave this one a 4.25 on a taster on Untappd when I first had it on Feb. 18, 2017. Untappd called it, “This take on a foreign extra stout is a rich and decedent brew overflowing with aromas and flavors of coffee, dark fruits, licorice, tobacco and bitter chocolate. We use a proprietary locally roasted coffee, molasses and super awesome organic, fair trade, cocoa nibs.”
Poured a pitch black color with two fingers of khaki foamy lacing. No bubbles underneath that I could see. Outstanding uneven lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled dark cocoa nibs, coffee, dark chocolate, semi-char wood, licorice, molasses, plum and dark fruits. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted coffee, dark cocoa nibs, dark chocolate, licorice, molasses spice, crayon, plum and dark fruit. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, roasty finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Not quite as good as I remember, but still outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)
