Can dated 1/9/21 into pint glass. Pours a hazy gold color with an immense off-white head. Initial impression is juicy grapefruit, pine, a bit of dankness and slight caramel. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Mouthfeel is medium and fairly soft. Finish is slightly bitter and resinous. Overall, an enjoyable but not world-class DIPA.

Mamba Mode from Pariah. Received on 21/2/21, cost $ 10.17 (Including shipping) for a 16 oz can ($ 0.636/oz) from Craftshack, San Diego, CA. Stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 2/3/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on bottom of can “LONG LIVE 8/24 01/09/2021”. Served at 48.5 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 55.9 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), murky.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), murky and opaque. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 6.5 cm, aggressive center pour), floral white, medium density, average retention, leaving a five to twenty mm mountainous lacy crown fed by effervescence, and a heaped partial cap. Chunks of lacing are scattered on the sides as the head retracts. Second pour produces a two cm head.
Lacing – Fair. Wide irregular bands of tiny to small bubbles with mostly smooth upper edges and a few stalactites on the bottom boundary. Mostly wide columns connect with the next lower band.
Aroma – 3.5 – Begins with slightly bitter unripe fruit (apple-ish) with some weak earthy melon and a little dankness, no malt, no yeast. Very weak at the end.
Flavor – 4 – Begins slightly bitter with moderate generic citrus bite and a hint of white grape. No malt, no yeast. No alcohol (8.1 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends moderately bitter and a bit earthy with a medium hang-time.
Palate – 4 – Medium, watery, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 Looks like a NEIPA but lacks any distinct flavors, although subsequent belches have a touch of tangerine. Still, a well-crafted Impy IPA, just lacks any exciting aromas or flavors, at an inflated priced point.

Cloudy amber brew with a long-lasting pile of foam in the tall Pilsner glass. Aroma of fermenting pineapple and mango. Seriously rich and sweet with a hot flash of alcohol.
Flavors of apple cider, butterscotch, and resins. Candied pineapple, dried pear, and some mysterious fruit candy chewed on in the dark at the movie theater. Finishes with plenty of bitterness and a pencil shavings mineral tang. Quite astringent in the aftertaste with something like chewing on juniper needles.
This is a powerful hop AND malt bomb, and something interesting to sip on. The bitterness wins out in the end. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine.

a really solid double ipa, all of the beer here was surprisingly awesome, and this was near the top of the list for me, a cool mix of hops, mostly dry hopped and fragrant but still flavorful and with enough bitterness to still drink like an ipa. there is a frosted almost candied thing to the hops, mosaic in here for sure and some maybe australian types, pineapples and passion fruit and pear and white life savers, a touch sweet in its oiliness when i taste it, but cohesive and hearty and satisfying and unique in terms of the mix of hops happening. i love the freshness and brightness, its over the top, bursting and ripe and awesome. the grain has some body and a light cereal complexion but stays in the background, i am surprised this is as strong as it is, its hoppy as heck but its not heavy to me, not boozy either. a light hop spice and a savory element too, the full package here, and lingering through the finish. super distinctive on the hops here, memorable even. these guys are doing some really great beers in here, i was majorly impressed with everything we drank on our visit!

Snuck over to Pariah for some reviews. Love their place and pretty much everything they make, so was excited to finally review some more stuff. Description on Untappd read, “New England style double IPA brewed with Ella, Enigma, Idaho 7 & Mosaic hops. Poured a gold, semi-hazy color with three fingers of off-white frothy-to-rocky head. A few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Almost perfect foamy, spiderweb lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled sugary sweet notes, dank Idaho 7, melon, peach, white grapefruit, pine, marijuana, passion fruit, herbal and white wine grape. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was not quite as good as the nose. Got dank Idaho 7, melon, white grapefruit, white grape, bitter tangerine rind, melon, peach, dry apricot, herbal, passion fruit and tropical zest. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Sugary dank finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was a very solid IPA, but not quite as good as I remembered (Overall - 3.75)
