What you're holding is a glowing orange hued American pale ale featuring a quartet of all-star hops from the Pacific Northwest. We find this crusher to be sopping with notes of overripe tropical fruit and a melange of citrus on top of an exceptionally soft mouthfeel. In short, a pale ale exactly as you’d expect Pariah to do it. When life keep throwin’ punches...

Hops: Strata, Mosaic, Citra, Sultana
Malts: Oats, Golden Promise, Wheat, Aromatic

A: murky; pale gold in color; 2 finger finely pored ivory head that receded to a thin cap; little lacing;

S: dank pineapple, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit;

T: my first sip seemed like watered down canned pineapple juice, but in subsequent sips, the tangerine, lemon, and grapefruit came through; mild grapefruit zest bitterness at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: nicely done;

Grabbed a can and a few others while looking for some beer for Jay. I’m a big fan of Pariah beer (even the ones that are practically rated perfect on Beer Advocate - wink, wink). Back of the can for this one read, “What you’re holding is a glowing orange hued American pale ale featuring a quartet of all-star hops from the Pacific Northwest. Not familiar with Sultana at all, but description calls for ripe pineapple, bright citrus and subtle hints of pine.

Poured a murky golden color with 2-to-3 fingers of off-white frothy head. Couldn’t really see any bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Pretty calm underneath the head. Good spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled mainly Mosaic and Strata up front, but Citra was there for sure as well. Also grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine rind, melon, mixed berry, mango, passion fruit, peach skin, floral and wet grass. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got Strata, Citra, Mosaic, grapefruit, tangerine rind, pineapple, melon, mango, passion fruit, mixed berry, bitter peach skin, pine, floral and wet grass. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)

This was an outstanding pale ale overall. Glad I picked one up. (Overall - 4.00)

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Dull opaque pale lemon body out of the can, hitting with a turbid solid chunk of dull yellow color. Turbid as heck, but not too murky and brackish. Bright white real creamy fixated head with super fine bubbles at an easy four fingers large. Settles with more soapy retention though while settling.

Big earth hop and dank notes hit nicely. Soft touching dank and mild earthy hop tones, with a sweet peanut butter like malt note as well. Mixes a nice simple balance of malt and hop, with a good balance between spice and dank hop quality.

Palate seems alright. Pale ale zoned mouthfeel, with a light refreshing touch of malt backbone. Hop palate really hits not so much in the middle but towards the finish. Slightly juiced flavor of tropical, but more so earth and grass tones. Real spicy pepper hop aftertaste that lingers and actually builds with some time. Hot finish.

Strangely comes like a mix of NE style and old school IPA heat. Not exactly ground breaking, but drinkable and perfectly fine, just sort of average for a pale ale.
