Not a fan of this one. Served on draft at Craft Conundrum in Charleston, SC. Arrives opaque black in color. Minimal head. Aroma is not very stout-like. The description mentions cinnamon and vanilla and chocolate. Sadly, I get none of that rather disappointing overall. Kind of salty and ashy. I'll pass.

cool beer right here, a nice adaptation of one of their more popular brands, and one of their better beers in general i reckon. the peppers in here are neat, seemingly a mix of smoky dried ancho type, and maybe something fresh and a little hotter potentially serrano peppers or something, not sure what they actually used, but this is how is presents itself. nice dark chocolate notes in here, a little sweeter towards the middle, especially as it warms, but there is just enough heat from the peppers to make it work, balanced and bold. is there cinnamon or something in here too? it has a sort of aztec hot chocolate vibe to it, mild spice but its there on top of the peppers. warming for sure, a little heavy in the gut, lots of viscosity and residual sugar, but the flavor is great and the mellow heat from the peppers is perfect. i think this would be a lot better in fall or winter, but i like it rather well even in the summer, not so boozy or anything. well done by fort collins, on tap at the brewery, i hope they package this one come the fall...

L: Dark black color, with no lacing or head, reminds me a lot of a coke.
A: Chocolate malt, toasted jalapeno peppers, Roasted malt, a slightly sweet fruitiness. A small mineral note
T: Peppers without a very slight hint of heat, a chocolate, a slight bittersweet chocolate bitterness. A syrupy sweetness.
F: Very slick mouthfeel medium carbonation.
O: Average but could be better.
