On-tap at the Brick Store.
Pours a clear brown color with a one-finger off-white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of sweet caramel malts with good amounts of light banana aromas and hints of spices - equally from clove and hops. As it warms very mild hints of smokiness also waft out.
Tastes similar to how it smells. Smooth caramel malt flavors that have hints of toasted characteristics kick things off. Shortly afterward solid amounts of banana flavors make an appearance before being tempered by mild amounts of cloves. The flavors sweeten again before a crisp ending.
Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with active carbonation.
Drinkability is also good. I finished my glass without a problem and could have another.
Overall I thought this was a solid beer for the style. If the flavors were a bit better balanced and the mouthfeel were lighter it could be great, but even as it is it's good and worth a shot.
