A - Poured with one finger of white foam that rests on top of a clear, copper-amber body. The head settles slowly and leaves light lace.
S - A light aroma of bready malt with some caramel and a bit of toasted malt.
T - Dry, bready toasted malt with a bit of caramel. More caramel in the middle with some toffee and a hint of citrusy hops. Finishes with light roast and sweet caramel as well as moderate bitterness and more citrus hop flavor.
M - Medium body, moderate carbonation, and a fairly dry finish.
D - Nicely balanced and drinkable with a blend of rich malt and pungent hops. The dryness actually helps lighten the beer and make it more drinkable rather than creating a harsh burnt toast character as is sometimes the case in very dry amber beers. It might benefit from a bit more hop aroma, though the flavor is fairly pungent. Worth a try, though my attention was easily drawn away by other offerings at the bar.
