A Best Bitter brewed with an heirloom variety of English barley called Chevallier from the 1850s. Showcasing a lip-smacking minerality and bitterness derived from a healthy dose of Whitbread Goldings hops and a modified Burton-Upon-Trent water profile, balanced with a backbone of luscious toasty, bready malt character.

Appearance: The slightly cloudy amber-colored liquid arrives from the hand pull with a creamy head; excellent retention and gobs of lacing
Smell: Earthy with toasted bread and mineral elements
Taste: Toasted bread and stone fruit tones with an earthy hop bitterness developing; the finish has a mineral like flavor joining with the hops to provide a satisfying bitterness
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with gentle carbonation
Overall: An excellent example of a style you rarely encounter in the US
