An interesting effort at a hefeweizen, but not an interesting hefeweizen.
This craft brewer from the province that claims to be the gastronomic capital of France, obviously, is ambitious to brew, too. Bringing beer into such an ambitious kitchen is interesting... particularly for a young micro. But, this Hefe is not to style.
The primary missing ingredient of Silky Weiss is it lacks the Bavarian-like Hefe yeast. While I got a decent foam here, it really lacks the banana and spicing aromas of the hefeweizen. And while Tastes could be considered balanced, they are merely average. There is a little of the silky, soft from the wheat and yeast, but only a little and not enough to qualify a repeat. I actually wonder how much wheat is in this bill.
However, I do give Bieres Georges good Overall Hugs. In wine country, they are trying to introduce the classic bier styles... many of which could pair well with the fatty, cheesy foods of the Lyon region. And beer, as we know, is particularly good at cutting thru the fat. A Sante' !

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
