This saison is made with paunnat, a flower that grows in Nunavut, creating a beautiful purple hue amidst the rich greens, browns and whites on the tundra.

Pours a cloudy golden-orange color. Very effervescent with thousands of small bubbles coursing upwards the entire time one is consuming the beer. Thick, frothy, exploding head forms on the beer, but quickly dissipates leaving no residual head. Aroma has notes of funky yeast, grain, some grassy notes and a touch of floral.
Taste follows the nose with notes of yeast, some bubblegum, wheat and grainy malts, floral and grassy hop notes, and some spicy clove. This tastes more like a hefeweizen than a saison - as that yeast brings those hefeweizen characteristics which dominate the palate. Feel is bright, spritzy, lively. Heavily carbonated. Semi-dry finish.
Overall it is an interesting beer. Enjoyed drinking it, but did not really fit what I want from a saison.

Pours a hazy gold with a big frothy head that dissipates very slowly. There is a slight pink/orange colour to this beer. Visually appealing.
The beer gives off gentle yeasty saison aromas A little spiciness. Some bubble gum. Not much of a floral note to my nose, but it is earthy/grassy. I don’t know what a Paunnat flower smells like so can’t really say if I’m getting that.
A spicy bite up front. That grassy/earthy quality is more pronounced than on the nose. Again, any floral quality is limited. I like this.
Medium bodied with a creamier finish. Pleasant and enjoyable.
As a rather unique beer, this was both exciting to try and very enjoyable. I’ve had several beers from Red Tape and they have all been decent to good. Nothing exceptional, but nothing bad. This is probably my favourite to date.

A beautiful darker orangey gold color, very clear, pure white head with visible carbonation on the pour. Swirling the glass around brings back a beautiful thick sheet of white.
The nose is reminiscent of hefeweizen esters to me; some bubble gum, minor clove, touch of refreshing citrus, and sweet earthy floral; a beautifully aromatic beer.
Earthy bubble gum is the first thing that hits the tongue; followed by spices, and actually a little bit of bread like malt. There is an grassy earthy sort of finish to it.
Medium body; carbonation that reminds me of Belgian beers but a little creamier, minor sweetness and a grassy low bitterness on the finish that lingers for quite some time. It has a very pleasant almost warming sensation on the palette and gut; makes my tummy and face smile.
