440 ml can, as Abbeydale Absolution Strong Golden Ale, from Bier Huis, Ossett. ABV is 5.3%. Pale golden colour, only slightly hazy. Large white head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple and tropical fruits. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour is slightly sweet, with the same elements as the aroma, also a hint of banana and honeymelon.

The can labels this beer as a 'Strong Golden Ale', maybe that is a 'less hostile' form than 'Strong Bitter'?... hmmm.
L- Surprisingly pale for an ESB/Bitter, I think it's a touch paler than many factory lagers, for example basic canned Stella and Kronenbourg. Pours with slight haze, and nice looking unifrom 3mm fine white cap. Foam cap holds really well and forms lacing on the way down...
S- Very mild, I just get a slight smell of greenery or even fresh cut grass.
T- Boom - 1st sip of beer today. They lable this 'Golden' but good grief 1st impression is that this is bitter. The roof of my mouth still feel odd 10 seconds after swallowing it. Subsequent it has much less impact though it's still pretty bitter.
F- Carbonation in the mouth is good, there is a sense of the bubbles being super-tiny. The beer is coming more into balance on my palate. I'm getting the malts coming through. This would be a refreshing beer in warm weather whilst still having some meat (Feel) on it's bones.
O- I used to drink a lot of Bitter in my youth, and ESB in later years. This beer looks and tastes very different to those trad beers, so I'm not sure how valid listing this as an ESB is. The Look and Taste and certainly different, the Feel does not have that sense of dark usually richer malts. Then we have the can labelling it as 'Strong Golden Ale'. Hmmm.
440ml can. BB: 30/11/2021. Bought from TremblingMadness/York for home delivery to London.

Tasted this beer at the Catford beerfestival in SE London earlier this month. I had only half-pint of this beer but it was as satifying as a full pint.
Served straight from the cask by gravity, it pours a clear, light-golden sparse, honey comb-like beerhead, minimum carbonation. On the nose it is orange-peel hoppy, combined with pale-malt's sweetish grainy flavour which is reminiscent of pineapple-cake like buttery+fruity nose~~ very pleasant and flavoursome but not aggressive. A dryish, aromatic and very light honeyish and sweetish grapefruity taste descends on the palate... immediately followed by a very intense bitterness and well-lingering hoppy flavour... leaving behind a clean, almost bone-dry, medium-high bitter while also round mouthfeel in the aftertaste. This flavoursome beer is full of depth and very well-balanced in both flavour and structure, and definitely is a deceptively strong, enjoyable beer at the end of any drinking session.
