Bottled and bottle conditioned

Slightly paler golden colour with a small creamy head. Lightly hopped but some decent tropical fruit flavours that linger in the palate, although never overly stated and quite thin.

(Notes of 03/12/07) Tasted by a half-pint at the Devonshire Cat, Sheffield; served by a sparkler-pull.

A: very dark golden in colour, coming with a creamy off-white head to last on top of very low carbonation.
S: syrupy sweet, like corn-syrup, rich toffee plus a touch of strawberry...! Some hints of diacetyl, honey and clotted cream are at presence as well. Not balanced.
T: very deep & sweet malt syrup presents upfront, laced with a touch of caramel and biscuits, then followed by muddy/earthy and phenolic maltiness, spicy+zesty bitter aftertaste, and a superbly lingering bitter hoppiness to cut deep down the palate, while remotely a sour edge surfaces subtly as some kind of a balancer.
M&D: refreshing and light on the palate, medium-bodied, with long-lasting bitterness to pair with a really rich malty body. Really good, in a sense that the flavour/taste outperforms the (weird) aroma by a huge margin!
