Wet Hop American Summer was brewed with '40 pounds of fresh CTZ hops flown in from Moxee, Washington' added in one addition at the end of the boil. These hops really take the stage with this beer. Its aroma is strong citrus with maybe a little pine. The flavor was great - very strong citrus and a little peppery - I would have guessed the beer had been spiced with a little coriander or grains of paradise, but not so. All this hop flavor and aroma were backed up by a pale lager with subtle but obvious malt, enough to keep me from thinking that I was drinking hop tea, and low bitterness. Very drinkable and a great way to showcase some hops.
