Poured from a 12oz bottle into pint glass in February 2026. I did not see a date stamp on either the bottle or label. I drank it within two months of purchase.
Appearance: Very dark black with a little dark tan head. Head was less than 1 finger high, and lasted less than a minute. The head had fine bubbles, typical of a stout. It left very little lacing on the glass, and ended with no head on the beer.
Smell: Aroma of maple, coffee, and alcohol. Also some chocolate & roasted malt smell. Very little hop aroma.
Taste: This is a sweet stout with strong maple and coffee flavors. These are enhanced by chocolate and roasted malt flavors. There is very little bitter hop flavors. There is a strong alcohol presence, which matches the advertised 15%+.
Mouth-feel: Full body, but also smooth. A thick stout.
This is a very good Sweet Stout, and I enjoyed the variety of flavors. The balance of flavors is good. Even though it is a full-bodied beer, it is still smooth and enjoyable to drink. I would buy this again.

As per my other reviews, poured from bottle unpretentiously into a pint glass lol. Dark black/hint of red but a bit thinner than I was expecting. Little head with no retention (which doesn't bother me). Tinge of maple and heavy roasted malt and coffee notes. Taste and mouthfeel are glorious, with a complex mix of coffee, that toasted and not-quite-burnt malt, and just that hint of maple (much less so than Barrelhouse Curly Wolf). Roasted nuts play a bit in this as well, and the high AC (mine was 15.3%!) didn't deliver the high alcohol burn I was expecting...still there to tell you it's high-powered, but not melt your palate level. I like Dogfish Head offerings and this continues the trend. A very nice and well-balanced imperial, even if not in my top favorites.

One, just one twelve ounce brown bottle was entirely emptied into a clear glass liter mug. The color of the brew isn't quite black coffee brown, but it's darker than cola soda brown. The pronounced aroma brings roasted malt, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and some alcohol. Secondarily, there's some vanilla, and other notes, giving this a nicely complex bouquet. Although initially smooth, the alcohol burn appears and makes this a slightly unpleasant mouthfeel. The taste is of roasted malt, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Although there's some sweetness, this isn't a dessert beer. The high ABV and sufficient bitterness assure that this is a sipper and not a chugger. There's almost no glass lacing, typical for something with this level of ABV. Slowing the pace of consumption gives a chance to appreciate all the taste layers.

A solid beer, but disappointing in several aspects. A tart, twangy, almost sour flavor pretty much soiled this brew for me. Past it are some nice coffee maple bourbon fruit notes, but something’s just way off here. Unfortunate considering DFH’s personal esteemed status and paying a dollar an ounce here.

Damn this is a big beer its heavy of the coffee for sure like hit you over the tongue espresso and green bean but its also very balanced which I assume from the combination of maple syrup and I could be getting some cinnamon but it could also be the slight burn this one punching at 15% I do believe its lost a bit of sweetness in the two years since its bottles but gained some balance and complexity which I appreciate having the regular WWS like 10+ years ago and pretty much just tasting vodka at 18%
Quite a treat for my 4,300th beer (WHOOT) but not sure if I would rush out and get it again one beer 3 Flyods Crushing mass this beer reminds me of its much smoother and still 15% bourbon aged coffee only ran me about 6 bucks a bottle this one was 10 which I regret not getting more of. Still exceptional stuff I was happy to finally pull the trigger and try!

Quite a bit different than the original WWS, this one has a simpler composition, with toasty, roasted and burnt flavors over top of some nice coffee. Note that I did not taste cinnamon or maple, or at least not enough to notice. The dark fruits and wine like character of previous versions is gone and you've just got something of a strong coffee stout. But a good one. DFH fans, big stout fans, and those curious about a $12 12oz beer should definitely try it. DFH didn't disappoint me on this one

Bought a single 12oz bottle $8.99 Fujioka's
Didn't realize it was already 2 years old when I bought it last year, but it says it ages well
Smells of bourbon
Dark black color
Medium-light carbonation
Heavy mouthfeel
Taste of bourbon, cinnamon, coffee, maple syrup
Overall a great sipper to enjoy the flavors.
