This beer boasts an attractive, hazy mahogany appearance; the white head is modest.

The aroma is predominantly sweet malt, athough there are faint tart, fruity notes.

It's smooth and medium-bodied. The carbonation is low -- too low, in my view.

It's sweet and slightly fruity. There are subtle notes of vanilla and milk chocolate.

The beer didn't meet my high expectations. It's merely good. I won't purchase it again.

12oz bottle served in a D'Achouffe tulip. Date stamp: Apr 2023 D2762235511

Appearance: Hazy / translucent copper-amber color. Very thin white head upon pouring that died away very quickly - no lacing.

Smell: Tart fruit, a bit of a sour cherry, but pleasantly so, aroma.

Taste: Tastes quite different than it smells. Aged noble hops, some fruity esters, mild sour finish, with some caramel-like malt sweetness under it all.

Mouthfeel: Light to no carbonation. A bit sticky on the teeth. Dry finish.

Overall / Drinkability: Surprisingly....boring. The aroma masks a beer that just doesn't have much punch to it that you would expect from this style. It has aspects of the style, but it feels like everything is muted and just so-so. A bit disappointing and I would not want another.

12 oz can, assuming it’s best by April 2024, born on the 276th day of 2023 based on the coding. Pours a ruby red brown with a two finger head that dissipates expeditiously. Cherry aroma. Taste is lightly sour, cherry, and some type of dark fruit. Light feel. Somewhat sharp level of carbonation. Overall an interesting take on a red ale.

A: Pours up a muddy amber with a quickly receding one-finger off-white head.
S: Oak, cherry and citrus come through
T: Slightly tart with a prominent malt body a more boozy taste for the style. The malt body dulls the tartness a bit. There’s a subtle hint of toastiness and some hints of dark fruit in the finish. 3
M: Dry and thin.
O: While I can’t say I love this beer, I am excited by what it demonstrates. For me, beers in the sour world rarely demonstrate much of any connection to the malts that birth them, but this beer is an exception to that. I think the balancing act needs to be managed with a bit more grace, but they are onto something here that is worth exploring further.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep reddish color ale with a small foamy head with some retention and lacing,. Aroma of cherry and oak notes with some medicinal notes also perceptible. Taste is a mix of cherry, oak and some light sweet caramelized malt notes with some medical notes also perceptible. Body is about average with good carbonation. Different and interesting but not something I would seek on a regular basis.

sour cherry up front, a little graham cracker and burnt biscuit going back, and a sour cherry finish. I wanted to like this because of the interesting ingredients and the excellent brewery, but this needs less of a sour note to be great.

12oz bottle. Stamp on neck reads 'Apr 2023'.
Cloudy, muddy amber colored body. Brief light khaki colored head, which maintains as an island and ring. No lacing.
Aroma is faint, with stone fruit that has a bit of sweetness and a touch of grassy/hay funk.
Taste is vinous red wine, cranberry, red cherry, and a bit of woody funk. Has some tartness and a slight sweetness.
Medium mouth feel. Numbs the tongue. Okay carbonation.
Presents as a ruddy, dry wine and a bit of woody port. Dark stone fruit that does not get to present all of its sweetness. Interesting but not totally inviting.

Picked up at Big Head's in Missoula, MT
12oz bottle poured into a La Fin du Monde tulip

P reddish brown w/ a small off-white cap
N soft; fruity tartness and sweetness
T carmely bready malt, cherries, and some white grape/apple character; light sweetness; a touch of tartness as well; alright
Mf med bodied w/ high carb; prickly on the tongue
O have had some pretty good experiences with DFH releases over the years, however I found this one to be just ok; was hoping for something a little more memorable, especially being a collab with Rodenbach; wouldn't seek it out again
