From the brewery: Fermented with a blend of kveik yeasts from Scandinavia, this sahti was brewed with Viking malts, a huge portion of rye, mashed on juniper branches and more juniper berries added to the boil, then conditioned for many moons in a juniper gin barrel. Reminds us of herbal rye bread.

16 oz draft pour at the brewery. Look is cloudy amber color with a thin white head that fell off completely. Smell was very potent juniper berry and various spices. Taste was sweet ginger root, juniper up front. The middle was tart and refreshing with more spices and more juniper. A hit of rye kicks in and drives the finish which is rye bread, spice, and a bit more ginger and juniper. Feel is light bodied, decent carbonation, clean finish, Alcohol is well hidden. Overall, this was remarkable in that the flavors were both bold and approachable which made this a pleasure to drink. Very interesting beer.
