I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in a tulip glass.
Appearance: rich golden-brown hue with a finger of frothy ivory foam atop and a moderate haze.
Smell: kind of a soft aroma of malt and yeast and a slight funkiness. It’s nice.
Taste: toasty malt with a bit of yeastiness and a moderately pronounced phenolic funk. Makes me think of a bière de garde; I dig it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: an interesting and tasty saison. Like I said, to me this falls closer to the bière de garde end of the spectrum (though they do market it specifically as a saison).
