Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. I don’t see a date on the can.

Appearance: pale golden-yellow hue with a dash of haze and a thin finger of frothy white foam atop.

Smell: sweetish malt with a little graininess and a little bit of a corny character. This beer appears to be all-barley, nevertheless, there’s a hint of corn pops. That said, it’s not bad.

Taste: like the aroma, there’s some graininess and some corniness to the malt, but it’s a bit on the dry side. There’s a nice bite to the bitterness, but it’s not overcomplicated by too much astringency from the malt. Pretty decent!

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess.

Overall: this is a pretty solid 4.2% lager. I think that I wouldn’t make it a go-to; the bitterness does have a fair amount of bite to it. But it’s not a bad beer by any means.

16oz can

Pours nearly two fingers of fizzy white head into my Willi. Retention is poor. Lacing is nonexistent. Body is pale yellow, crystal clear, with a hefty nucleation. Looks bad.

Nose is snappy, with subtle notes of spice, grass, and a considerable minerality. Maybe a touch of malt. Smells like it could have a roughness to it, but overall pretty nice.

Flavor is far more balanced. Malt is a tiny bit toasty with a touch of sweetness, countered by a bitter finish. Pretty significant shift from the nose, but it’s good all the same.

Carbonation is medium, though it has already dropped from all the nucleation. Body is relatively light. Bitterness is moderate but elevates into the finish and as it warms. Sweetness starts modest and gets drowned out as the bitterness rises over time. Mouthfeel is good.

Drinkability is fine.

Aside from the nose it’s an incredibly simple lager, with a bitter finish.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a fine, two finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of lightly biscuit malt, mild citrus hops, lemon; lightly floral. Flavor is biscuit malt, citrus hops, lemon, lime, faint floral and mixed fruit. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A pleasant lager with lightly grainy biscuit malt and a touch of huskiness and a simple, but pleasant citrus hops with hints of fruit. Nice burst of grainy malt in the finish. Laid back but enjoyable.
