Collaboration with Whims Brewing. Brewed with our fairly minimalist West Coast IPA base, we hopped the hell out of this one in the kettle with buckets of Columbus and Simcoe. Hit in the dry hop, layering in Comet, Centennial, and Amarillo CGX.

On draught at the brewery less than a week after release. It pours an almost crystal clear, bright gold with a finger cap of creamy, milk-white foam. The smell offers lemon peel, ruby red grapefruit, and clean malt in the background. Its taste starts with tart citrus, including lemon and grapefruit. While there is some pine sap from the Centennial hops, what sets it apart is the Comet hops which contribute dank, grassy, herbal notes. There is neither malt sweetness nor dry cracker but a strong earthiness. This ale is very lite and crisp with fairly lively carbonation, and at 6.8% ABV it is highly drinkable. Overall, Croc Kings combines big flavor and great drinkability.
