Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium, hazy, milky gold, nearly opaque in the glass and a three finger white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of wheat and pale malt, dank and tropical fruit hops, grapefruit, lemon and mixed over-ripe tropical fruit. Flavor is wheat malt, dank and citrus hops, lemon, yuzu, grapefruit, faint mixed tropical fruit, a little grassiness, and catty dankness. Somewhat abrupt finish, but with an interesting burst of light lemon citrus esters lingering. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess and sharp creaminess. Although there was some pilsner malt character to the aroma, the body is mostly light wheat. The Loral hops seem to be the dominant hopping, with bright lemon and citrus zest character, but hints of dankness and exotic ripe tropical fruit. The aroma was quite close to a hazy IPA, but the taste was mostly wheat. I see now that the yeast was a kveik type and the dry finish is very typical of that yeast. An interesting off-beat fresh hopped ale, but for me I'd prefer a little more malt depth to support the hops. Interesting enough and with a decent hop bitterness to keep me sipping.
